Matching five candies in a row create a Color Bomb. Combining a Color Bomb with any a candy of any color will clear all the candies of that color.
Sugar Crush: At the end of a level, if you still have Moves remaining or if there are any Special Candies remaining then there is a sequence where you get bonus score since you performed so well.
In Candy Land, players have five lives to start with. When failing a level, a player loses a life, but the life is replenished (for free) after 30 minutes.
Sometimes you need to reconnect to Facebook again to get your Facebook messages. You can do this in the main menu by tapping the Connect icon.
You can play the full game without ever connecting to Facebook. You can even play Candy Crush Saga without an internet connection.
Charms are permanent. This means that once you buy a charm it is yours to keep forever. This also means that the may cost slightly more than other items in the game that you consume and buy over and over again.
Some Charms, like the Charm of Frozen Time, can be toggled on and off from the screen that appears when tapping a button on the map, right next to the Boosters. Other Charms, like the Charm of Stripes, is used inside the level during gameplay, and is accessed by tapping the corresponding button in the top left corner of the screen. The Charm of Life is always active.
Boosters come with a number of charges. Once you use the Booster, one charge is consumed. Boosters are much cheaper than most Charms and can be quite helpful if you find yourself in a pickle or if you are stuck on a particularly tricky level.
Matching Three Candies Is Great, But Four Or More Is Awesome
If you really want to boost your score, match four or five. Matching four generates a special candy that, when combined with two other pieces of the same color, eliminates a whole row. Five, on the other hand, produces a special candy that, when matched, destroys all similarly-colored pieces on the entire board.
Tip: Combine special candies for screen-clearing effects.
Keep A Close Eye On Number Of Turns
You only have a specific number of turns to complete a stage, which the game displays at the bottom of the screen. Definitely keep tabs on it at all times. In fact, you should consider that number with each turn.
Don't Waste Turns
It's so easy to match candies thinking you're doing a great job, when it's the exact opposite. If the remaining piece of jelly (more on that in a bit) is on the lower left corner of a gigantic puzzle, don't waste turns by matching candies on the top right.
Tip: You must reach a certain number of points to beat a puzzle.
Jelly Doesn't Move
This is an easy mistake. During the jelly-themed levels, the actual jelly blocks cannot be moved. Instead, you're able to maneuver the different pieces of candy. Always think about the best possible ways to remove jelly by strategically putting different candies in place.
Losing Comes With Great Consequence
When you first begin to play Candy Crush Saga, the game only supplies you with a certain number of turns; think of these as lives. Once those run out, you have three options: put the game down and wait for more lives to appear, ask Facebook friends for free lives or purchase more for $0.99.
You Need To Unlock And Pay For Boosters
Just because you unlocked a power-up, known as a Booster, doesn't mean the game will just give it away for free. Each one costs money. Boosters include:
  • Jelly Fish ($1.99): Adds jelly fish to candy, then clears three pieces of jelly when matched.
  • Extra Moves ($0.99): Adds five extra moves to a puzzle.
  • Lollipop Hammer ($1.99): Smash candy to remove it.
Consider Buying Charms
These special items are yours to keep, and greatly impact the game. The first, Charm of Life ($16.99), increases your lives from five to eight.
The Game Displays Matches
If you take too long making a move, the game will spotlight potential matches. These pieces of candy will pulse, making them easy to spot, but watch out. Depending on the objective, these moves may not be in your best interest.

DEFINITIVE CANDY CRUSH GUIDE: HOW TO GET EXTRA LIVES, DEFEAT ANY LEVEL, AND CRUSH ALL THE CANDY YOU CAN!
Candy Crush is my not-so secret addiction. It has consumed my days and plagued my nights. I've been crushing so much candy over the last few months, in fact, I've managed to figure out quite a few tips, tricks, and flat out cheats that have helped me beat level after level. And it's time I shared them all with you, the iMore nation!
So here they are, my top 10 ways to beat the candy out of Candy Crush: (Update:)
  1. Find the patterns. There are things that will make a sprinkle donut hole or special candy effortlessly. Recognizing and repeating them allows you to wipe the board and earn your ticket to the next level faster. I'm always looking for these patterns. I memorize which patterns lead to which special candy and then set them up whenever possible and as needed.
  1. Start at the bottom. Crushing candies on the bottom is better than crushing candies at the top, because candies drop down, creating the potential for a cascade effect that essentially gives you free moves.
  2. Go for the combos. The two best combinations are the wrapped candy and the stripped candy, and the sprinkle donut hole and the stripped candy. Together, they can wipe out over half the board for you. This can also help you get to places which are off the board or otherwise difficult to reach. This is the only way you will get by levels such as 181, which have unreachable squares. Also, a wrapped candy switched with another wrapped candy will ignite a 6 by 4 square which can clear a huge area.
  1. Know your stripe. Candy is stripped in the same direction as the final candy moved to complete the previous formation. If your move a candy horizontally, it will make a horizontal stripe, which will then explode horizontally as well.
  1. Assess your threats. Prioritize getting rid of evil candy by their threat levels. For example, I usually make it a rule to kill low number bombs first, then chocolate, then got after the blocks.
  2. Clearing jellies on the edge. When getting rid of jellies, only worry about the edges, especially the corners and bottoms. These jellies have the least number of combinations which can eliminate them, so will be the hardest to get rid of. Take a moment each move to see if you can get rid edge jellies and, if not, go after an easier one.
  3. Have a plan. Each time you start a new level, look at the hardest element on that level and think out how you can defeat it first before you use up lives. Also, pause between moves. You may have a sprinkle and not even realize it if you're watching the candies from a lesser move get crushed.
  4. Understand chocolate. If you've eaten a piece of chocolate one round, chocolate will not regenerate the following round. This is a great way to keep chocolate at bay. Try to destroy chocolate each round so that it won't regenerate the next. You can clear the entire board of chocolate using this method, though in later levels there is a chocolate maker which will bring them back in vicious fashion. Chocolate will avoid special candy if it can. Chocolate will also not eat a fruit or nut, though it will absorb bombs.
  1. +5 Candy is your friend. Make a candy crush chain with +5 on whatever levels you can. This will add 5 seconds to a time trial level. You can tell if it is a "time trial" level or a "clear the jelly" level based on the small icon in the lower left corner of the start up screen for each level.
  1. Cheat time for extra lives. If you don't use Facebook, there's still a cheat to get you extra lives. Turn the clock on your mobile device ahead 2 hours, and then keep playing to your hearts content. Go to Settings > General> Date & Time > Set Time Off > Set Date and Time > Add two hours forward and get 4 more lives in your game. You will eventually have to pay back the time, but schedule that for when you're sleeping anyway. Remember to change the time from PM to AM if you are going past midnight.

Update: rodrigonew in the comments adds this brilliant twist to the extra lives cheat:
For "cheat time for extra lives" one, there's a better way: go to settings>set date and time>set manually>add a day. Then you go to candy crush, verify that the 5 lives were added and BEFORE PLAYING you go back to settings and change it to be set automatically. This way you don't have to make up for the lost time, it somehow doesn't register the increase of a day if you don't loose any lives before changing it back.
